VII Iberian Modelling Week

The VII Iberian Modeling Week will take place online from 26th to 28th November 2021. It is an event jointly promoted by the Portuguese Network of Mathematics for Industry and Innovation, PT-MATHS-IN, and by the Spanish Mathematics and Industry Network, math-in.

This Iberian Modelling Week (IMW) is primarily intended for master and undergraduate students with a strong component in mathematics, and aims to provide students with the opportunity to work on real problems that arise in an industrial context, identical to those they may encounter in the future, preparing them to better address the labor market and be able to respond to its demands.

The international nature of the event allows not only to bring students closer to the industry, but also the exchange of experience between students with different educational realities.

IMW also aims to sensitize the Industry to the added value of Mathematics when applied to the resolution of real problems arising from the most diverse industrial areas.

The Iberian Modelling Week is an annual event that takes place alternately between Portugal and Spain, since its first edition in 2014 in Coimbra, and the following editions in Santiago de Compostela in 2015, Porto in 2016, Vigo in 2017, Lisbon in 2018 and Seville in 2019. The event was interrupted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it resumes its organization in this online event, which is expected to be equally successful.
